We are pleased to announce that Dr. Alan McMillan, Professor of Clinical Health Sciences in the Department of Radiology and Director of the Molecular Imaging/Magnetic Resonance Technology Laboratory (MIMRTL), has been appointed Co-Director of the ICTR Pilot Awards Program. Dr. McMillan will serve alongside Dr. Meghan Brennan and Dr. Chris Sorkness, providing strategic leadership to support innovative investigator-initiated research.
Enhancing Research Support & Collaboration
The ICTR Pilot Awards Program provides funding to UW–Madison investigators to support early-stage research projects that can lead to larger external funding opportunities. The program also fosters collaborations between UW–Madison and the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute, helping to accelerate scientific discoveries and clinical advancements.
Dr. McMillan brings extensive experience in medical imaging, computational modeling, and interdisciplinary research. His leadership will help strengthen the program’s commitment to rigorous scientific review and provide valuable support for research teams working on cutting-edge translational projects. Dr. McMillan is a former ICTR pilot award recipient, having received a Novel Methods Pilot Award in 2015. His expertise in medical imaging and technical leadership will be invaluable in shaping the future direction of the Pilot Awards Program.
