We are excited to share that Professor Alan McMillan, Professor of Clinical Health Sciences and Director of the Molecular Imaging/Magnetic Resonance Technology Laboratory (MIMRTL), has been named Co-Chair of the Healthcare AI Challenge alongside Dr. Bernardo Bizzo, Assistant Professor and Senior Director of the Data Science Office at Mass General Brigham (MGB).
Shaping the Future of AI in Healthcare
The Healthcare AI Challenge is a multi-institutional, interactive initiative led by Mass General Brigham AI, bringing together leading healthcare institutions and professionals to evaluate and assess cutting-edge AI technologies in real-world clinical scenarios. The University of Wisconsin Department of Radiology, where Dr. McMillan plays a key leadership role, is a founding participant in this collaborative effort.
The challenge provides healthcare professionals with hands-on access to the latest AI tools, allowing them to evaluate model performance on key clinical tasks such as medical image interpretation. Participants will assess AI-generated draft reports, key findings, and differential diagnoses, offering expert feedback that contributes to transparent, data-driven rankings of AI solutions.
